Timelapse Photography
Featuring: Los Angeles, Mulholland Drive, San Fernando Valley and the Santa Monica Pier. The Mulholland Drive Clouds were captured the same day as the Panorama on this page above....
Time-lapse photography is a technique whereby each frame is captured at 3 sec. intervals, much slower than it will be played back (6fps). When replayed at normal speed, time appears to be moving faster and thus lapsing.
Processes that would normally appear subtle to the human eye, such as the motion of the clouds or an amusement park become very pronounced.
